Next to www.crossmediaweek.org and the PICNIC event, there are other interesting events as well, of course. We would like to share two events in particular that will take place the coming months.
The LIFT conference is a yearly event intended to facilitate and promote discussion about new technologies and their impact on our society. The second edition will be held in Geneva Switzerland in February 2007. Lift has an interesting format next to some great speakers and attendees.
On December 11 and 12 http://www.leweb3.com/ will take place in Paris. Leweb3 is the third instalment of ‘Les Blogs’ a major new media event.
Guido van Nispen, board member of the Cross Media Week Foundation, is one of the Advisory Board members of Leweb3 and moderates the session creating and bridging communities on the opening morning.
Leweb3 will have a very interesting speaker line up such as David Fischer - GM Europe Myspace, Dave Sifry - founder & CEO Technorati, Martin Varsavsky founder & CEO Fon, Danny Rimer of Index Ventures and Niklas Zennstrom of Skype.
The full programme can be found at http://www.leweb3.com/leweb3/2006/10/leweb3_program_.html
Next to an interesting conference programme, lost of other activities will take place such as start up awards and parties with the attendees (full list can be found here http://www.leweb3.com/leweb3/participants/index.html).
Leweb3 has an early bird price of € 300 for the entire if you register before November 11 at http://registration.leweb3.com/ after that the fee will be a modest € 500 ex. VAT.
The second event we would like to mention is SIME, www.sime.nu the Scandinavian Interactive Media Event, celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year. Just as previous years SIME gathers the most important companies and the most exciting speakers during a two-day conference that ends with the “Academy Awards of the Internet”, the official awards ceremony at Berns in Stockholm.
This year SIME focuses on highly topical themes such as successful internet companies and entrepreneurs, blogging, the video revolution, and the convergence between traditional and ”new” media.
SIME also has an interesting speaker line up with speakers as Andreas Weigend, Professor Stanford, ex-Chief Scientist at Amazon.com, Ted Cohen Senior Vice President, Digital Development & Distribution EMI Music, Ulf Ekberg, Pop Star, investor and Kjell Aamodt, CEO Schibsted. An overview can be found here http://www.sime.nu/module.asp?xmoduleid=16975
Registration for SIME http://www.sime.nu/module.asp?XModuleId=17155
We hope to see you at one of these events to discuss what is happening in our industries and countries.
